BACKGROUND AND CONTEXT
A mass gathering is a planned or spontaneous event where the number of people attending could strain the planning and response resources of the community or country hosting the event. They pose a significant challenge to the health system due to increased risks of infectious diseases, exacerbation of non-communicable diseases, accidents, and injuries. This interactive learning session is designed to equip public health professionals and policymakers with the knowledge and practical skills needed to establish and manage surveillance systems during mass gatherings.
