BACKGROUND AND CONTEXT
The COVID-19 pandemic and the continued threat of zoonotic epidemics have highlighted the urgent need for robust and adaptable digital tools in field epidemiology. These evolving challenges reveal persistent gaps in our ability to respond effectively to health crises, especially where One Health approaches are still unevenly applied. This workshop will introduce the SAFETYNET Suite of Digital Tools - comprising the SAFETYNET Learning Management System (SLIMS), Talent Management System (TMS), and Seamless Epidemiologic Surveillance System (SESS) - which are designed to empower field epidemiologists, healthcare workers, and program managers. These tools support streamlined disease surveillance, efficient expert resource management, and continuous professional development.
